During the past few weeks, there has been news that have been creeping in the media about the new virus called coronavirus also known as covid-19. It has been causing panic and distress over people and the society. People are getting paranoid and the media is conveying its news to the people. Media has a way of over exaggerating news and that causes fear and panic over the people. I always hear how the fatality rate and death toll is rising over the continents of the world like China, Europe and now even the western countries but the media is not showing any signs and percentage of people who have recovered from the virus. This shows how things can get one sided easily without all the details and perspective of others.
Recently, the public school system are extending their March break for two weeks, NBA basketball games suspended their play, the countries are having to promote social distancing and so on…
During this time, as Christians and as people that are looking out for the good of the people, let’s practice sanitary and hygiene procedures like hand washing but other than that, what else?
I want to share my testimony where in I experienced a similar Illness and was isolated, I felt depressed, and afraid and my family was not there because I had to undergo treatment. During my time at the hospital, I was in my deepest darkest moment, and when I was ready to give up and I felt like I everyone gave up on me, I met my healer and my saviour, who was Jesus Christ. If I could go back in time, and if someone asked me would you rather not get sick? I’d say, I would do it all over again even if I was ill, because that was when God showed up…during my deepest darkest moment in my life, where I thought I was alone, I was not..
As the chosen people of God and as brothers and sisters of Christ, we should use this time to spread the gospel, and let other know that healing over the people and their land and protection is possible only by Jesus Christ. Let’s use this opportunity to encourage one another and others as well who are affected by this virus, don’t let this come to pass without exercising our faith, by fervently praying and laying hands over the sick. Everything has a purpose and let others know the love of Jesus by loving one another and loving our neighbour just as ourselves.
